i got the blues

It's been a tough week, with my beautiful little C heading off to daycare while I returned to work - I wrote about it here. And then to top it off my mum's cat had to be put down this morning. My brother and I picked her out as a kitten as a Christmas gift 13 years ago. I'm welling up just thinking about it. How is it that things so small and furry can make such a way into our hearts and minds?

I am with you on both fronts . . . I had a glorious two weeks at home with my kids over the holidays, now back to work and missing them. AND, I had to put my 21-year-old cat (also got as a kitten) down last week. We're all still crying for Ruby.

Oh, I'm feeling for you - you poor thing! Sometimes it's like all bad things come in one...

Barbara, I know what you're going through. I think one of the reasons it's been such a tough week at childcare is that not only are there some new babies but there are also quite a few who are returning from holidays and they're taking a little while to settle in too. The one saving grace for me has been that I've thoroughly loved being back at work. It is the silver lining at the moment.

Thanks, Esther... hopefully it means I'm due for a handful of good things!

Thanks, coachdad. I still get a bit teary when I think of dear old sparks, but it's getting better. And I can't wait for a new week after the last one!

Hey natalie, so sorry you had a tough week - I'm sure it will get easier soon with daycare. And congrats on the babyccino - it looks like a really good blog and I've added it to my bookmarks. E xx

ps - I know what you mean about invasion of privacy. Since my blog is mostly personal I've always tried not to link my full name to it - there are lots of strange folks out there

Thanks, Eleanor. And, babyccino blog is so cool. I love that it is a global conversation. It makes me feel like I'm travelling the world and experiencing new things even though I'm still sitting at my dining table!
