easy decorating idea

I'm loving, loving, loving being back at work. It's crazy busy and it feels like we're always on deadline but it's great being surrounded by amazing creativity all day long. But it's not just the real living team who are bursting with great ideas - it's our readers too, like this oh-so-easy project from Carli Jeffrey.

It must be great to have a job that you are excited about. I hope to also one day. Just a quick question if you don't mind: I was wondering what you studied at university (if so) as I was studying journalism until now and am confused if I should do a postgrad dip in jou or do english lit as a masters to get writing jobs in magazines and publishing.
Thanks for taking the time to read this.

Good to hear Natalie. I can imagine real living would be a stimulating environment to work in. I worked in magazines for a few years (as an art director) and it was great, but the art dept deadlines were unbelievable.

I'm impressed you're managing to keep up with blogging too.

K, Sorry for taking so long to reply but it's been a crazy, busy time for me with a print deadline for the mag and I've just moved home! As for your question, it depends on what type of journalism you're interested in. If it's print journalism, eg, newspapers then I'd suggest you do a postgrad journalism course rather than English Lit masters or a masters in a specialist field such as economics. But if it's mags, forget about doing more uni and just get your foot in the door and do work experience. You'll be surprised how many people end up getting a job this way. Hope that helps!

Lisa - my life is incredibly frantic right now (work deadline and moving home) so the blog has been a bit neglected... but I still LOVE all of it!
